Cheekbone Envy
Seen as a sign of regality and beauty in many cultures and a commodity in the fashion industry, the appearance of high cheekbones is desired by women everywhere. In the 1970’s, chiseled cheeks were very much in mode – turning to favored dewy sun-kissed cheeks in the 90’s. Today - anything goes.
We all have cheekbones, but when trends change literally every season, it is difficult to know whether a contoured cheekbone will land you on the fashion in or out list. Fortunately, this is one of those makeup tricks that depends less on current trend and more on what looks great on you! So, let’s talk about ways to apply cheek color correctly to enhance your natural bone structure.
Contoured cheeks look incredible and offer a refined and sophisticated look when it is subtle.
Use the right color for your face. Shading with light colors highlights areas, dark colors draw attention away from the area in which it is used. Use a peachy color that is similar to your complexion to highlight apples, and a deeper, neutral shade to accentuate cheekbones.
Pucker your cheeks in lightly to find the contour. You will naturally apply color more lightly in response.
Be subtle when using cheek color.

P.S.: Models on the runway and women in photos and print ads wear more makeup so the camera lighting doesn't wash out the model – this does not translate to everyday wear.
